The overwhelming majority of these patients sustained gunshot wounds, and all responsive individuals reported they were attempting to access food distribution sites. Since the establishment of new food distribution sites on May 27, the field hospital has treated over 3,400 weapon-wounded patients and recorded more than 250 fatalities. This figure exceeds all mass casualty cases treated at the hospital in the twelve months preceding May 27.

This situation is unacceptable. The alarming frequency and scale of these mass casualty incidents underscore the horrific conditions civilians in Gaza are enduring.

Those injured must be afforded the medical care and attention they require as soon as possible. The rapid and unhindered flow of humanitarian assistance must be allowed and facilitated. Impartial humanitarian organizations must be enabled to operate in line with their mandates, principles, and working modalities. This is essential to prevent further suffering.
